They are seeking a talented Construction Estimator to join them. As a key member of the construction division, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs, ensuring the viability of developments, and contributing to their successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and estimation for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overhead expenses.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop comprehensive project budgets and timelines.
- Review project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit competitive bids and negotiate favourable pricing agreements.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction phase, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management regarding project cost projections and financial performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements affecting construction costs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred but not essential.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably in residential or main contracting sectors.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction industry, regulations, and construction practices in Scotland.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
